01

What is Making Tax Digital and when does it start?

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is being phased in for sole traders and landlords registered for Self Assessment. It becomes mandatory from 6 April 2026 for qualifying income over £50,000, 6 April 2027 for income over £30,000, and 6 April 2028 for income over £20,000. It requires digital record-keeping and quarterly submissions to HMRC.

02

How does AATAX connect to HMRC?

AATAX integrates with HMRC APIs through your Agent Services Account. That lets you submit quarterly updates and the final declaration on behalf of your clients, securely and compliantly, with every call traceable in an audit log.

03

Can my clients use AATAX directly?

Yes. Your clients get a portal where they can upload documents and see their submission status. You keep full control over what is submitted and when — the portal is for visibility, not unilateral filing.
